The Savanna, also known as the tropical grassland biome, is a very lush part of South Africa where life is plentiful. It has a grassy ground layer and a higher layer of woody plants. In other words, a savanna is a massive grassland with scattered trees all around. Unique plants, animals, and weather all take place in this territory and we will be explaining them thoroughly throughout the course of the website. This region is between latitude between 15 degrees North & 30 degrees South and longitude 15 degrees West, and 40 degrees West. However, we are focusing on the South Africa part of the savanna's. Ever watched the movie "Lion King", well that movie mostly took place in the Savanna of South Africa. Being the largest biome in South Africa, it takes up over 1/3 of the land. Enjoy!
